THE GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW DISEMBARKS IN NEW YORK

New York – On July 13, the Genoa International Boat Show was presented for the first time in the United States, at the New York Yacht Club in Manhattan.

A preview for the Boat Show which will take place in Genoa from September 22 to 27, 2022 and for an event of such importance to the entire Italian boating sector, it was important to choose an exclusive location in New York, the business capital of US.

With its historical legacy and prestige, New York has always played a leading role in the in the global yachting sector and together with Miami and Fort Lauderdale in Florida engaded in a continuous search for innovation in designing state-of-the-art boats.

The United States permanently represents the primary market for Italian recreational boating in the world, with 10 years of continuous double-digit growth, Italian yachting holds a record-high place in the U.S. market.

In 2021, it created a business volume of approximately 500 million, and by April 2022 it represented +102% growth from the same period from the previous year.

This occurs because the Italian yachting industry is the epitome of Made in Italy with yachts and boats that display at the same time, technology, design, and materials, along with performance, innovation, style, and creativity.

Confirming its top position are the countless Italian companies which are absolute industry leaders, and the Boat Show, an event of primary international importance.

The only way to admire the entire range of Made in Italy boat and yacht products is to visit the Genoa International Boat Show, a unique international showcase of the Italian boating industry, which in the upcoming edition, running from September 22 to 27, will be showing more than 1,000 boats to its visitors.

Italian yacht exports have reached an all-time high in the first months of 2022, nearing the 3.5-million-dollar threshold, and the U.S. market now represents a strategic and indispensable target for our boatyards.

The communication path for Italy’s excellence in boating, owing to the collaboration developed in previous years between Confindustria Nautica and the ICE Agency, now begins at New York and will serve to reinforce the leading position of sales in the United States as the primary destination of Made in Italy boats and yachts, as stated by Stefano Pagani Isnardi, Director of the Confindustria Nautica Research Office.

If 2021 was a record-high year for Italian sales in the U.S. and 2022 has started in double digits, this year will also be a year – along with future years – destined to support and relaunch the reputation of genuine Made in Italy in the U.S. starting in New York. We did this in May for fashion, design and jewelry at the Italy on Madison event, in June at Fancy Food for food and wine, and in July for boating. And more will take place in the U.S. starting in Miami and Los Angeles, followed by Chicago and Houston, declared Antonino Laspina, Director of the ICE Agency in New York, coordinator of the USA network.

For reasons of leadership in our industry, we had to add communication in the first market in the world to the commercial actions, and if, on one hand, we increased the number of trade shows and the companies present, for the first time we are in New York and we will be again in Fort Lauderdale, with industry and trade show communication, declared Carlo Angelo Bocchi, Director of the ICE Office in Miami.
