ITA Airways: new nonstop flight Toronto – Rome open for sale

The new flight will start to operate in the upcoming 2024 summer season with the following schedule:

  • Toronto – Rome Fiumicinooperating six weekly frequencies, with daily flights from June to September and five weekly roundtrip flights in October. In May, the schedule includes departure from Toronto at around 5 pm and arrival in Rome Fiumicino at around 7 am (local time) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday plus Wednesday from June. Return from Rome Fiumicino is at 10.15 am (local time) with landing in Toronto at 2.05 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, plus Wednesday from June.

The flights will be operated with the new Airbus A330-900 aircraft, which features the most recent breakthroughs in aviation technology, and with the Airbus A330-200.

To ensure an exceptional travel experience, the A330-900 features a three-class configuration with 30 seats in Business Class, which are fully reclinable to a full flat bed, 24 seats in Premium Economy Class and 237 seats in Economy Class including 36 seats dedicated to Comfort Economy – all promising a comfortable and enjoyable journey to our passengers.

The opening of the new Toronto – Rome route represents for ITA Airways a major product, which enhances the connections offered from North America, the first market after Italy. In addition, its launch will allow the airline not only to add a strategic entry for point-to-point traffic but also to reach other destinations within both Countries, thus combining leisure and business travel flows.

The new nonstop flight reflects ITA Airways’ commitment to providing optimal travel solutions and further enhances the accessibility of this route. From Toronto, ITA Airways passengers can fly to the main destinations in Canada and North America thanks to the interline agreements in place with Canadian partners.

In addition to the Toronto route, a new nonstop flight from Chicago to Rome Fiumicino will be launched from 7 April 2024, with six roundtrip flights per week, which will become daily from June to September and returning to six weekly frequencies in October. Flights to Chicago are already on sale.

ITA Airways started its operations on 15th October 2021. Via its hub in Rome Fiumicino, the Company flies to 51 destinations in the current winter season, including 12 intercontinental with New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, New Delhi and Malè (Maldives). At the core of the airline’s strategy is the ambition to be an ambassador of “Made of Italy” with customized services ensuring a full Italian travel experience in every aspect of the customer’s journey. This goal is achieved thanks to key partnerships with renowned Italian brands, such as Brunello Cucinelli, who designed crew and ground personnel’s uniforms, Walter De Silva, who created ITA Airways new aircraft’s interiors, and Michelin-starred Italian chefs, who are signing the onboard food offer. One of the Company’s strategic pillars is also the commitment to sustainability, achieved thanks to a continuous fleet renewal with technologically advanced and efficient aircraft. ITA Airways’ fleet currently includes 83 Airbus aircraft, with 39 of the latest generation, comprising machines from the A320neo family as well as the A220-300, A220-100, A330-900, and A350-900.

ITA Airways will also further expand its international network during the upcoming summer season with new direct flights from Rome Fiumicino:

  • from May 5th2024 to Riyadh, with 4 weekly frequencies, rising to 5 from June;
  • from June 6th2024 to Accra, with 3 weekly frequencies becoming 4 from July;
  • from June 7th2024 to Kuwait City, with 3 weekly frequencies becoming 5 from July;
  • from early August 2024 to Jeddah, with 3 weekly frequencies.

With the new openings in the upcoming summer season, ITA Airways will fly to 56 destinations, including 16 domestic, 26 international and 14 intercontinental. In addition, during the summer peak, the Company will add 10 seasonal destinations, selected among the most popular Mediterranean tourism destinations, including Greece, Spain, Croatia and the Italian islands, which will be reachable through direct flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate. These are Rhodes, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraklion, Corfu, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, as well as Split and Kefalonia operated only from Rome Fiumicino.
