“MADE IN ITALY” TAKES CENTER STAGE AT THE 2026 SUMMER FANCY FOOD SHOW

From June 28th to June 30th, the 70th edition of the Summer Fancy Food Show—North America’s largest trade show dedicated to the specialty food and beverage sector—will take place at the Javits Center in New York.

Italy will be represented by over 300 companies, reaffirming its leading role in an event that grows every year in terms of exhibitor quality and commercial impact.

The Italian Pavilion is the largest international presence at the fair, featuring companies specializing in the most representative sectors of Made in Italy: pasta, preserves, cured meats, cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, baked goods, confectionery, sauces, gourmet specialties, and beverages.

Regional participation was particularly significant, with the presence of numerous Italian regions, including Calabria, Campania, Sicily, Lazio (Arsial), Puglia (Unioncamere), Piedmont, Marche, Liguria, and Sardinia, as well as organizations such as Anicav, Consorzio Edamus, IDM Südtirol, Tradizione Italiana, and the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo.

The customary presence of ITA – Italian Trade Agency, with networking spaces such as the ICE Lounge, helps make Italian participation more cohesive and strategic.

This edition comes on the heels of UNESCO’s recognition of Italian cuisine as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which ITA celebrates together with all the participating companies.

“The Summer Fancy Food Show is the premier international gathering for the food industry, distribution, innovation, and food culture. New York has a unique ability to attract buyers, importers, distributors, media, and professionals from around the world, making the event extremely dynamic and commercially effective. For Made in Italy, it represents an extraordinary platform: American operators continue to recognize Italy’s authenticity, quality, tradition, and capacity for innovation, and this makes the Italian Pavilion one of the event’s major highlights.” Said Bill Lynch, President, Specialty Food Association

“Once again, this year, Italy will be represented by over 300 companies at the 70th edition of Summer Fancy Food. It is one of the most important events for ITA and for Italian companies in the food sector. Italy remains firmly in first place among European exporters and ranks third overall among supplier countries, despite the current economic climate, which has seen a slowdown in U.S. imports from Italy. The main categories of Italian agri-food products imported into the U.S.—wine, olive oil, sauces and vegetable preserves, bottled water, and cheese—account for nearly two-thirds of the total value of agri-food imports. Italy maintains its top position as a supplier of cheese, bottled water, pasta, vinegar, and gelato, while ranking second for olive oil and wine. Italian companies are rising to the challenge of the times by continuing to invest in the U.S. market, teaming up with ITA Agency and the fair’s organizers, and reaffirming their interest in a market that has become, over the years, fundamental. ITA Agency celebrates, together with Italian companies, UNESCO’s recognition of Italian cuisine as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity and the excellence of Italian products, which are always appreciated in the American market.” Stated Erica Di Giovancarlo, Director of ITA New York and Coordinator of the ITA Agency Network in the U.S.

“Supporting Italian companies at the Summer Fancy Food Show means working on a process that goes far beyond simply participating in the trade show. Over the years, we have built a system of services, relationships, and operational support that allows exhibitors to arrive in New York under the best possible conditions, focusing on business and market opportunities. We have a deep understanding of both the needs of Italian companies and the dynamics of the American market. Our goal is for every company to view the Italian Pavilion not merely as an exhibition space, but as a genuine platform for promoting Made in Italy in the United States.” Stated Donato Cinelli, President, Universal Marketing — exclusive agent for Italy of the Specialty Food Association
